The Summer School for PE Teachers 2008, featuring the theme "Nurturing Creativity and Critical Thinking Skills" initiated by the Education Bureau, is organized by the PE Division, Department of Creative Arts and Physical Education, the Hong Kong Institute of Education. It is an annual professional development programme focusing on sharing innovative curricular practices, pedagogy and assessment for promoting creativity and critical thinking through physical education. The
activities
include:

a half-day Conference titled " Nurturing Creativity and Critical Thinking Skills through Physical Education scheduled on Friday afternoon, 27 June 2008 at Queen Elizabeth School;
-
a full-day School-based Experience Sharing Seminar aiming at sharing with PE teachers innovative and relevant curricular and pedagogical practices for nurturing creativity and critical thinking skills through Physical Education on Saturday, 5 July 2008 at the Tai Po Main Campus, the Hong Kong Institute of Education; and
-
25 2-day and 4-day workshops focusing on further enhancing PE teachers’ pedagogical competence in promoting creativity and critical thinking through a variety of PE content and pedagogies in schools at the mid of July 2008.
