The Summer School for PE teachers 2006, featuring the theme "Assessment Literacy: Theories and Practices" initiated by the Education and Manpower Bureau, will be organized by the PE Division, Department of Creative Arts and Physical Education, the Hong Kong Institute of Education. The project focuses on developing awareness of good and innovative practices in PE curriculum and pedagogy especially assessment in local schools.
The project includes the following programmes:
1. A half-day Conference titled “Assessment Literacy” wil be scheduled on Friday, 7 July 2006 at Tsuen Wan Town Hall.
2. A full-day School-based Experience Sharing Seminar aiming at sharing with PE teachers good and innovative curricular and pedagogical practices will be held on Saturday, 8 July 2006 at the Tai Po Main Campus, the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
3. 20 4-day workshops focusing on further enhancing PE teachers’ pedagogical competence in promoting a variety of PE content in schools.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I cordially invite PE colleagues to attend the conference, present papers in the seminar and enroll in workshops.
