Successful Seminar: "Smart Education in the Web 3 Era" by Prof. Jun Shen
The Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at The Education University of Hong Kong successfully hosted a thought-provoking seminar titled "Smart Education in the Web 3 Era" on 9 January 2025. The event, organized by Prof. Yu Leung Ho Philip, and Dr. Sun Daner, featured Prof. Jun Shen from the University of Wollongong as the distinguished speaker.
The seminar attracted a diverse audience of educators, researchers, and students, who gathered to explore innovative approaches to Open Educational Resources (OER). Prof. Shen delved into the pressing issue of OER sustainability, highlighting the challenges of current cost models and the limitations of traditional methods such as computational intelligence-enabled microlearning and knowledge extraction. He presented an innovative framework leveraging Web 3 economic concepts to build a more sustainable and efficient ecosystem for OER development.
