商海鋒博士

副教授

         商海鋒博士,2016年夏加入香港教育大學文學及文化學系,現任長聘副教授兼「中文研究文學碩士」課程主任。生長於北京,於南京大學域外漢籍研究所獲得博士學位。曾為香港城市大學中文、翻譯及語言學系,京都大學大學院文學研究科訪問博士生。曾任香港教育大學文學及文化學系副主任,台灣中央研究院中國文哲研究所博士後研究員,廣州中山大學中國語言文學系特聘研究員,北京大學對外漢語教育學院兼任講師。屢任卓越學術機構訪問學人,諸如哈佛大學中國藝術實驗室,耶魯大學東亞研究中心,東京大學東洋文化研究所、中國思想文化學研究室,東京國文學研究資料館,京都花園大學國際禪學研究所,新加坡國立大學中文系。2017年春創立「東亞古典學研修會」,提出「東亞宗教藝文思想史」的研究方法。主持港府研資局計劃三項:圓覺思想與信仰於東亞藝術、文學中的呈現(11-15世紀)(GRF),日本詩僧萬里集九對蘇軾的詮釋與想象——東坡抄物《天下白》研究 (GRF),日本禪僧萬里集九的黃庭堅詩註《帳中香》研究(ECS)。出版學術著作兩部:《新譯圓覺經》,《北宋香譜兩種》(2021-2035年國家古籍工作規劃重點出版項目)。

 

Dr. Haifeng Aaron Shang joined the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong in the summer of 2016. He is a tenured Associate Professor and the Programme Leader of the Master of Arts in Chinese Studies (Language Education).

 

Born and raised in Beijing, Dr. Shang earned his Ph.D. in Chinese from the Institute for the Study of Asian Classics at Nanjing University. He has been a Visiting Research Student at the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics at City University of Hong Kong and the Graduate School of Letters at Kyoto University. He has held several academic positions, including Associate Head of the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies at EdUHK, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy at Academia Sinica in Taiwan, Senior Research Scholar in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Sun Yat-sen University in Canton, and a part-time Teaching Fellow at the School of Chinese as a Second Language at Peking University.

 

He has also been an Academic Visitor at several prestigious institutions, including the Chinese Arts Media Lab at Harvard University, the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University, the Institute of Advanced Studies on Asia, the Division on East Asian Thought and Culture at the University of Tokyo, the National Institute of Japanese Literature in Tokyo, the International Research Institute for Zen Buddhism at Hanazono University in Kyoto, and the Department of Chinese Studies at the National University of Singapore.

 

In the spring of 2017, he founded the “East Asian Classics Academe” and introduced a research method for studying the history of East Asian artistic and literary thought, emphasizing its religious origins.

 

Dr. Shang is the Principal Investigator for three projects funded by the Research Grants Council of the Hong Kong Government:

1.     (GRF) Manifestations of the Idea and Doctrine of “Perfect Enlightenment” (Yuanjue) in East Asian Arts and Literature (11th-15th Century)

2.     (GRF) A Japanese Zen Poet-monk’s Interpretation and Reimagining of Su Shi - A Study on Banri Shūkyū’s Shōmono-style Commentary Tenka haku [The Brightest of the World]

3.     (ECS) A Study on Fragrance within the Curtains, the Annotation of Huang Tingjian’s Poetry Anthology by the Japanese Zen Monk Banri Shūkyū

 

He has authored two scholarly books on the history of Buddhism and fine arts:

1.     Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment: A New Translation

2.     Two Encyclopedias of Incense from the Northern Song (2021-2035 National Ancient Books Work Key Publishing Projects)
