Postgraduate Students Explore Hong Kong’s Biodiversity on Ecotour at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden

Postgraduate students embarked on an immersive ecotour at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) organized by the Graduate School (GS) on March 6, 2025.  Participants explored Hong Kong’s rich biodiversity, learning about native flora and fauna while enjoying the serene natural environment.

The tour included guided visits to key attractions such as the Insect House, Parrot Sanctuary, Wildlife Walkthrough, Jim Ades Raptor Sanctuary and various greenhouses. Participants encountered rare species such as the leopard cat, Chinese pangolin and the Hong Kong orchid tree, gaining insights into KFBG’s conservation efforts to protect these vulnerable animals and plants.

Participants have been writing reflective essays about the event, which will be used to plan future events. Beyond its educational value, the ecotour allowed students to explore KFBG’s trails and gardens while interacting with peers.
