Abstract
In this seminar, Professor Cliff Lee will draw on over a decade of research on the value and importance of connecting critical literacy, computational thinking, interactive media, storytelling, game design, artificial intelligence, and creative expression in creating multimodal artifacts with Black, Indigenous, and Youth of color for public audiences. He will share examples from past and current research projects that highlight the potential and possibilities of developing culturally sustaining and thriving pedagogies that center the interests, cultures, identities, and ancestral knowledge of U.S. BIPOC youth who contend with multiple dimensions of marginalization. Prof Lee’s interdisciplinary approach draws from a diverse array of disciplines, including: learning science, ethnic studies, computer science, design, arts practice, game design, and English language arts.
We look forward to seeing you there!
All are welcome.
