Congratulations to Dr Adam Poole for winning the “FEHD Dean’s Research Award: Book” and Dr Soobin Choi for being selected as a finalist for the “FEHD Dean’s Research Award: Journal Articles.”

We are delighted to announce that our EPL colleagues have won awards and have been selected as finalists for the Dean’s Research Awards 2023/24 in The Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD). These awards aim to recognise the contributions of staff research that have led to the betterment of society. 

Dr Adam Poole won the “Dean’s Research Award: Book” for his publication titled “Teachers’ journeys into international school teaching in China: Exploring motivations and mobilities”. This book is published by Routledge and illuminates the experiences and perspectives of host country national teachers at internationalised schools in China.

Additionally, Dr Soobin Choi has been selected to be a finalist for the “Dean’s Research Award: Journal Article” for his publication titled “Distributed leadership promotes teacher self-efficacy in multicultural classrooms through school capacity building: A multilevel SEM approach using U.S. Teaching and Learning International Survey”. This article, published in Educational Administration Quarterly,  examines the direct and indirect effects of distributed leadership on teacher self-efficacy in multicultural classrooms (TSMC) through school capacity building, specifically via teacher team innovativeness and a feedback network.
