The Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) were delighted to host Dr. Ting Zhang from American Institutes for Research on July 3. Dr. Ting Zhang is a senior data scientist and project director at the American Institutes for Research. She leads transformative projects at the intersection of statistical software development, AI innovation, and education data science.
Throughout the visit, Dr. Zhang gave a talk to students and staff on ‘International Large-scale Education Data Analyses Using EdSurvey’. Dr. Zhang explained plausible values and the steps in dealing with large-scale assessment data. She also gave a handy overview of the EdSurvey, the R package developed by her team. The participants found the seminar beneficial to understand the design and analysis of large-scale assessment.
