EdUHK Signs MoU with Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua XinYi School to Foster Educational Integration and Exchange
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shenzhen Hong Kong Pui Kiu College Longhua XinYi School (Pui Kiu XinYi School) on 30 October 2024 at EdUHK Tai Po campus. The purpose of this MoU is to promote educational integration and exchange between Hong Kong and Mainland China, and to foster collaboration in various areas such as teacher training and tertiary education for students from Mainland China.
EdUHK was represented by Professor May Cheng May-hung, Vice President (Academic), while Mr Wu Yuk Chi, Chief Principal, represented Pui Kiu XinYi School in signing the MoU. With this new partnership, both parties will encourage collaboration on multiple initiatives, including the ‘Mainland School Principal’s Nomination Scheme’, and field experience arrangements for EdUHK students, as well as teacher development activities.
Professor Cheng stated that EdUHK values the partnership with schools in Mainland China. This MoU lays a solid foundation for future collaboration between EdUHK and Pui Kiu XinYi School, the partnership will not only enhance students' practical abilities but also promote professional exchanges among teachers, as well as further deepening collaboration between the education sectors of both regions. She believed that in this rapidly changing era, both parties would be able to join hands to face challenges and explore new possibilities.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr Kevin Kam Wai-keung, Director of School Partnership and Field Experience of EdUHK; Mr Cheung Yung Pong Langton, Professional consultant of School Partnership and Field Experience Office; Dr Liang Yuan, Associate Professor of Department of Chinese Language Studies of EdUHK; Dr Chan Chu Kwong Alex, Assistant Professor of Department of Chinese Language Studies of EdUHK; Ms Victoria Wang, Executive Principal of Pui Kiu XinYi School ; Ms Bian Ziyi, teacher of Pui Kiu XinYi School; and other guests.
