EdUHK Signs MoU with Country Garden Silver Beach School Facilitating the Education Development Between Two Schools
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Country Garden Silver Beach School on 5 December, 2024 at EdUHK’s Tai Po campus. The purpose of this MoU is to establish a close collaboration in various domains, including teacher training and further education for students in Mainland China, thereby fostering educational development between the two institutions.
EdUHK was represented by Vice President (Academic) Professor May Cheng May-hung, while Mr Yuan Qing Chen, Chief Principal, represented Country Garden Silver Beach School in signing the MoU. With this new partnership, both parties will encourage collaboration on multiple initiatives, including the 'Mainland School Principal’s Nomination Scheme,' internship and field experience arrangements for EdUHK students, as well as priority participation in selected professional training activities, conferences and seminars.
In her speech, Professor Cheng said that EdUHK was very pleased to sign this MoU with Country Garden Silver Beach School, laying a solid foundation for future development and bringing new opportunities for educational progress in both regions. She hoped that through exchanges in different cultural environments, students would gain a deeper understanding of the educational systems in both areas, expand their horizons, and enhance their competitiveness. Professor Cheng expressed her wish that both parties deepen their collaboration in researching teaching methods, promote the sharing and complementarity of resources, and provide students with a more comprehensive learning experience.
Mr Yuan Qing Chen, Chief Principal, emphasized that he believes this collaboration will promote professional exchanges among teachers, allowing them to share teaching experiences and further enhance the quality of education. He also believes that such collaboration is not only crucial for the learning development of students but will also contribute to the mutual progress of both schools in educational philosophy, working together to foster educational innovation and development.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Dr Kevin Kam Wai-keung, Director of EdUHK School Partnership and Field Experience (SPFE); Ms Mandy Au Yuen-yee, Associate Director of SPFE; Mr Langton Cheung Yung-pong, Professional consultant of SPFE; Mr Lu Jia-jie, Head of High School; Ms Liu Jing, Operation Director; Mr Fan Hong-Jun, Supervisor of Country Garden Silver Beach School.
