China Foreign Affairs University Delegation Visits EdUHK to Discuss Current International Situation and China’s Foreign Affairs
On 30 October, a delegation led by Ambassador Mr Wang Shiting, Party Committee Secretary of China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), Professor Gao Fei, Vice President of CFAU, Ms Ma Xinyu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of CFAU, visited the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), sharing their insights on the current international landscape and China’s foreign affairs, and engaging in interactive discussions with EdUHK faculty and students.
Dr David Wong Yau-kar, Council Chairman of EdUHK; Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, EdUHK President; Professor May Cheng May-hung, Vice President (Academic); Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin, Vice President (Research and Development); Dr Tom Fong Wing-ho, Vice President (Administration), and Professor Lo Sing-kai, Associate Vice President (Internationalisation), along with around 50 EdUHK senior officials, faculty members and students joined the event.
Ambassador Wang shared that the world is undergoing unprecedented changes and discussed the practice of China’s foreign affairs in the new era, showcasing the pioneering achievements that China has made in society, the economy and foreign affairs. Ambassador Wang recognised EdUHK’s development in recent years and expressed his hope for deeper collaboration with EdUHK in promoting national education and fostering a sense of patriotism among teachers and students in Hong Kong.
China Foreign Affairs University, recognised as ‘The Cradle of Chinese Diplomats,’ has trained over 600 senior diplomatic officials since its establishment. Ambassador Wang’s sharing provided EdUHK faculty and students with a deeper understanding of current international landscape and China’s foreign affairs. EdUHK students also took the opportunity to raise questions to Ambassador Wang.
After the meeting, Ambassador Wang and his delegation visited the EdUHK’s Extended Reality Room and the exhibition “Cultivating Souls and Enlightening Wisdom – An Exhibition of Textbooks for Primary and Secondary Schools,” currently showing at the Hong Kong Museum of Education.
