Awardees of Scholarships: 2024/25 PhD Students of ECE Department

The Department of Early Childhood Education is pleased to announce the latest updates on the Research Postgraduate Programme 2024/25 (RPg Programme).
 
The programme has recently welcomed five new PhD students in 2024/25 intake, with notable achievements among them. 
2 prestigious scholarships were awarded: 
  • Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (i.e. HKPFS, click here for the award details)
    • Established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2009, the HKPFS aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong's universities.
  • Belt and Road Scholarship (click here for the award details)
    • Established by the Education Bureau (EDB) of the Hong Kong SAR Government to strengthen education collaboration with Belt and Road countries. Belt and Road Scholarship is offered to research postgraduate students from Belt and Road countries.
 
The PhD students and their principal supervisors are outlined below (in alphabetical order of the student's surname) showcasing the programme's ongoing success and excellence. 
  • LAM, Yee Ling, PhD student of Dr YANG, Weipeng
    • LAM, Yee Ling was awarded the HKPFS award in May 2024.
  • LIU, Lijia, PhD student of Prof CHUNG, Kien Hoa Kevin
  • SHEN, Yi, PhD student of Dr CHAN, Yun-chen Jenny
  • THEIN, Khin Aye Chan, PhD student of Prof LI, Hui
    • THEIN, Khin Aye Chan was awarded both the HKPFS award in May 2024 and the Belt and Road Scholarship (Research Postgraduate) in July 2024. 
  • YAN, Juan, PhD student of Dr LI, Jianbin
    • YAN, Juan was awarded the HKPFS award in August 2024.
