“ECE STEM Team” Winning award at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

The “ECE STEM Team” of ECE EdUHK led by our Assistant Professor, Dr. Annie Hu and Dr. Vivienne Leung, of ECE Department of EdUHK, exhibited at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.  The team’s invention, “Make-Play Station”, was awarded a bronze medal, acknowledging its excellence among the many other technological inventions at the exhibition.

The “Make-Play Station” is a transformative, multifunctional STEAM* learning station for children aged 3 to 8. This invention overcomes space and resource constraints with a versatile and compact design that provides a wide range of STEAM materials for creative, exploratory and maker play. It represents a pioneering era of STEAM education, promoting young children’s ability to critical thinking and problem solving through fostering a culture of exploration. During the exhibition, children and families from different countries shared positive feedback after their hands-on experience of the ‘Make-Play Station”. The invention was also recognized by other exhibitors for its function to promote young children’s interest and curiosity in learning.
