2024-05-07

The Department of Early Childhood Education is thrilled to share the success of the Sensory Art and Messy Play Workshop held on 18 March 2024 (Monday). The workshop, led by a registered Childcare Worker with professional qualifications in designing and leading Sensory Art and Messy Play for children's therapist art and mental wellness lessons, provided an enriching experience for our participants.

A total of 22 participants, including both Full-time and Part-time ECE programme students, joined the workshop. Over the course of three hours, the instructor introduced a wide range of sensory play materials and demonstrated their application in achieving the objectives of enhancing children's mental wellness and sensory development.

During the workshop, our students had ample opportunity to explore the sensory materials and engage in hands-on activities. They found the experience to be interactive, attractive, and, most importantly, fun. The instructor's expertise and guidance allowed them to gain authentic experiences and practical skills that they can apply when working with children.

The workshop not only provided our students with valuable knowledge but also sparked their creativity and ignited their passion for designing engaging learning experiences. They expressed how the hands-on activities inspired them to create practical and stimulating lessons for children, focusing on sensory integration and development.

The feedback received from our participants was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the workshop's impact on their understanding of sensory art and messy play. Many expressed their eagerness to attend future sessions and deepen their knowledge in this area.
