About the Project
The Make-Play Station is invented by two ECE core members – Dr. HU Xinyun Annie and Dr. LEUNG Wai Man Vivienne. This project is the knowledge transfer component of the Early Childhood STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) project at The Education University of Hong Kong, supported by the iTech Fund and collaborated with a local company.
Design of Make-Play Station
The Make-Play Station is a versatile and compact learning space that combines several elements of play spaces and learning resources – creative play, exploratory play and maker play. Equipped with a range of STEAM materials, tools, and resources, the Make-Play Station provides children with endless opportunities to engage in exploratory activities and hands-on maker projects.
With the Make-Play Station, even the most space-constrained kindergartens in Hong Kong will be able to offer their students a world of possibilities to explore the STEAM world. Its innovative design allows for easy storage and mobility, making it ideal for classrooms with limited space. The Make-Play Station also comes with a carefully curated set of activities and projects that are integrated to meet the specific needs of early learners in their everyday lives, and encourage every child can embark on their own unique STEAM learning journeys.
