Scholarship Programme for Full-time Doctoral Students
With the aims of encouraging high-caliber doctoral students with keen research interest in the field of computational thinking education and development to participate in CTE2018 by relieving their financial concerns, attracting high quality paper submission on computational thinking areas and foster academic exchange among local and overseas young scholars, CTE2018 proudly announces the establishment of Scholarship Programme.
Any person who fulfil all of the following criteria are eligible to apply for the Scholarship Programme.
| a) | Possessing full-time student status in any field of study pursuing doctoral degree at any tertiary institutions in any regions |
| b) | Submitting outstanding computational thinking and education related long paper(s) / short paper(s) / poster paper(s) to CTE2018 as first author |
| c) | Having at least one CTE2018 paper accepted by the International Programme Committee as long / short / poster paper(s) for presentation at the conference |
Scholarship Award Details The Scholarship Programme will offer full scholarship awards and half scholarship awards with details as follows.
| a) | Full scholarship will be given to selected short or long paper authors with high quality submission. CTE2018 conference team will provide full subsidy of traveling expense and accommodation in EdUHK school hostel (shared double room) for the scholarship recipients. Room will be shared with another same-sex scholarship recipients. Full amount of CTE2018 registration fee will be waived. |
| b) | Half scholarship will be given to selected short or poster paper authors with submission that have contribution to computational thinking education. CTE2018 conference team will provide half subsidy of traveling expense and accommodation in EdUHK school hostel (shared double room) for the scholarship recipients. Room will be shared with another same-sex scholarship recipients. Half amount of CTE2018 registration fee will be waived. |
Traveling and Accommodation CTE2018 secretariat will centralize the purchase of flight ticket and provision of accommodation for all full and half scholarship recipients.
The traveling and accommodation package to be provided for full and half scholarship recipients are as follows.
| a) | For full scholarship, full expense on return air passage in economy class for direct route from awardee’s institute or place of residence to Hong Kong, and vice versa, and three-night accommodation (nights of 13-15 June 2018 (HKT)) will be covered. The accommodation is shared double room in student hostel located in Tai Po Campus of The Education University of Hong Kong, which is 5 minutes’ walk form CTE2018 venue. |

Application Procedure Interested students should submit their paper to CTE2018 through Easychair and complete the Scholarship Programme application form on or before 9 February 2018.
Scholarship recipients will be notified of the application result by email in mid-March 2018.
