3. Continuous improvement and learning teams

Becoming an educational leader involves forming and operating learning teams that become the core
of continuous improvement in the school.
The best learning comes from working in teams. Educative leaders recognise the value of teamwork
and establish learning teams in areas of concern.
A team is formed when a group of teachers come together for a mutual purpose, which for a learning
team is sharing in the benefits of learning together while improving the process of teaching.
A team provides the benefits of shared enthusiasm, risk and workload. Most importantly, a team
provides individual members with opportunities to reflect on their practices and behaviours.

              Learning teams may provide:
              1. A concern with issues of right and wrong and negotiation of practical ideals in education.

              2. A concern with the analysis of current and ideal conditions and the creation of preferred ways to
                 approach issues.

The following illustration describes the function of learning teams.
