                         Ellen  Goldring  is  Patricia  and  Rodes  Hart  Professor  and  Chair,  Department  of
                         Leadership, Policy and Organizations, Peabody College, Vanderbilt University.  Her
                         research  interests  focus  on  the  intersection  of  education  policy  and  school
                         improvement with particular emphases on education leadership. A fellow of the
                         American  Educational  Research  Association  and  Past  Vice-President  of  AERA's
                         Division of Policy and Politics, she is  the recipient of the University Council  for
                         Educational Administration’s Roald F. Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award.

                         Her research examines leadership practice, and the implementation and effects of
                         interventions  such  as  professional  development,  coaching,  and  performance
                         feedback.  Currently, she is leading the evaluation of the implementation of the
                         Wallace  Foundation’s  Principal  Supervisor  Initiative.  Her  other  current  projects
                         include a study of the Instructional Partnership Initiative, and a validation study of
                         a diagnostic assessment of instructional leadership capacity.
