It gives me immense pleasure to extend my heartiest congratulations to The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on its long-expected birth.
As the only local university of education, EdUHK plays a crucial role in providing professional teacher education, driving forward the development of education in Hong Kong and enriching the local tertiary education landscape. Apart from being dedicated to teacher education, it is also developing into a multidisciplinary university, offering a diversi ed range of quality programmes in complementary disciplines to meet the rising demand. On the research front, its capacities have also been growing remarkably.
Success in attaining university status is a major milestone and a most worthy cause for celebration as it is a fruit of the concerted efforts of your management, staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders. The positive outcomes from this achievement will extend across the entire tertiary education sector and Hong Kong at large.
