The Awardee of the President’s Commendation in Sports in 2021/22

I started playing table tennis when I was seven years old. Time flies, it has been twenty-two years since then. Table tennis has already been part of my life. With my goal and passion, I turned to be a full-time athlete when I was fifteen. The sacrifice is worth it as I love this sport.

With the full support from my parents, I am able to strive to accomplish my dream of being one of the top players in the world.

Two years ago, I applied for the Bachelor of Health Education Programme and started my study in the EdUHK. Also, I would like to thank the President and teachers for their full support which makes it easier for me to stay engaged in campus life. Moreover, I can learn about knowledge beyond table tennis which helps to broaden my horizons. Knowing that it is not easy to strike a balance between studies and sport at the same time, I will keep fighting and hope to pursue a master’s degree in the future to enrich my life.

The Education University of Hong Kong considers it vital to encourage students’ active engagement in co-curricular activities so as to build value systems and personalities, broaden horizons and absorb knowledge from alternative and non-traditional sources.  The President’s Commendation Scheme (PCS) was introduced in 2010/11 as a University-level recognition of students’ non-academic achievements.
