Jao Tsung-I Academy

With over 100 years of rich and vibrant history, Jao Tsung-I Academy is one of Hong Kong’s cultural landmarks. It was a customs station during the Qing dynasty (1644–1912), then became labourers’ quarters, and thereafter, a quarantine station, prison, infectious disease hospital and psychiatric rehabilitation centre, respectively. The building itself also has unique historical and architectural significance.

To promote cultural inheritance, the academy organizes guided tours, thematic exhibitions, weekend markets, workshops and educational programmes.

Tuen Mun Wu Shan Riverside Park

There’s no better way to learn about a place’s cultural than visiting its residential area. Bernice will lead the way, let’s take a quick glance at a local’s daily life.

Wu Shan Riverside Park covers an area of 1.26 hectares, it includes cycling tracks, jogging trail and more. About a few minutes away, there is an alley selling all kinds of local street food, guaranteed to delight your taste buds.

Another attractive feature of the riverside area is the locally-designed artworks which are installed along Tuen Mun River. Relax as you take a stroll along the Tuen Mun River, or enjoy the facilities provided at the parks and gardens around.

Sai Wan Swimming Shed

Sai Wan Swimming Shed was built some 50 years ago for swimmers to change into bathing costumes, it is said to be Hong Kong’s last swimming shed. Ariel will show you how to get to the swimming shed and capture the picturesque sunset scenery.

After visiting the swimming shed, you can go to the Belcher Bay Harbourfront Open Space which was fully opened in Oct 2020. Just 6 minutes walking distance from Exit A of Kennedy Town MTR Station, you can unwind in the sea breeze and enjoy the beautiful night view.

Ping Shan Heritage Trail

Stretching about 1.6 km in length, the Ping Shan Heritage Trail links up a number of traditional Chinese buildings within easy walking distance of each other to provide visitors with an opportunity to learn more about traditional life in the New Territories in a convenient half-day excursion.
