Enlightening Professional

EdUHK Mentorship Programme

Enlightening Professional - The EdUHK Mentorship Scheme seeks to create an active and engaged community by bringing together current students, EdUHK alumni and professionals. It connects students with experienced mentors in various fields who can broaden their horizons and discover potentials, as well as paving the way for success at EdUHK and beyond. Mentors practice a ‘life influence life' approach that ensures mentees' professional growth in their life and career development.

Aims

  • Strengthen students' professional and personal development, and develop their adaptability and resilience
  • Help students build up supportive professional networks
  • Explore and understand students' personalities, values, career interests and career goal setting
  • Provide the learning collaboration for students and mentors to understand different cultures, lifestyles and working practices of different generations

Session-based Mentoring Experience

The new approach ─ Session-based Mentoring Experience aims to create a relaxed mentoring environment focused on individual small talks rather than traditional and long-term mentoring relationship. The benefit of this new and flexible approach will bridge the gap between the need for mentoring and the limited time and attention which a student has to engage.

In response to the recent trend of having multiple mentors, having more than 1 mentor will widen the knowledge of the mentee. Different mentors will have different strengths and insights into what leads to success in their field. In addition, students may attend more than 1 session and learn more about a number of different industries.
