Participating Employers

Thank you for providing I&T-related work experience to students from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). This initiative is supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) and the Career Development Services (CDS) at EdUHK for students in STEM-related programs. The objective of this scheme is to encourage students to gain innovation and technology (I&T)-related work experience and to cultivate their interest in pursuing careers within the I&T sector.

Please find below key requirements and highlights regarding the ITC STEM Internship. Additionally, Employers must comply with all stipulations outlined in the ITC STEM Internship Scheme 2025 Guidelines. Please click here for details.

 

A. Key Requirement:

  1. Registered Business: Must be a registered business entity
  2. Adherence to Guidelines: Employers must comply with all stipulations in the ITC STEM Internship Scheme 2025 Guidelines
  3. Non-Credit Bearing: The internship must be non-credit bearing
  4. Job duties: Should provide relevant work experience in STEM-related fields
  5. Non-Teaching Position: Teaching roles or related elements are not permitted
  6. Duration: Internship must last between 4 to 8 consecutive weeks, not exceeding 59 calendar days and must last at least 28 calendar days after deducting any no-pay leave days, if applicable
  7. Insurance: Employers must provide Employees’ Compensation Insurance for Student Interns
  8. Safe Environment: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for a safe office environment
  9. Commercial Location: Internships must be conducted in designated commercial locations; home offices or remote setups are not allowed
  10. Supervision and Guidance: Assign a qualified mentor for ongoing support and regular evaluations to guide Student Interns
  11. Collaborative Atmosphere: Promote interaction among staff and Student Interns, with opportunities for team engagement
  12. Resources and Equipment: Provide the necessary resources and equipment, including computers and specialized tools, to facilitate job duties
  13. Legal Work: All job opportunities must comply with the laws of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the National Security Law. The Student Intern and/or participating Employer should not engage in acts or activities that could endanger national security or contradict its interests
  14. Quota Evaluation: CDS will assess the Employer’s company size and the educational value of the internship to determine the internship quota
  15. Final Decision: EdUHK reserves the right to make the final decision

 

B.  Application:

  1. Application Period: Open from 23 April 2025 to 24 July 2025. Late applications will not be accepted
  2. Quota: Quota is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis
  3. Application Process: To submit your application, please complete the Online Form on the EdUHK website under Career Development Services > Internship Programmes > STEM Internship Scheme > Participating Employers page. You will receive the results within two weeks. Please note that only approved Employers will receive feedback following the vetting process. If you do not receive a response within this period, it indicates that your application has not been successful.
  4. Job Posting: Successful Employers and job opportunities will be listed on the Ed Job Plus website for 3 weeks for student applications

C. Post-Internship Requirements:

  1. Document Submission: Employers must submit the following to the EdUHK Student Affairs Office Career Development Services (CDS) upon internship completion:
    1. Employer’s Internship Evaluation Form
    2. Online Supervision Form
    3. Attendance Record

It is suggested that all documents be submitted to CDS by September 12, 2025, or within 7 calendar days after the end of the internship, whichever is earlier

  1. Allowance Settlement: Once documents are verified by CDS, Student Intern will be contacted regarding allowance arrangements:
    1. Subsidy is HK$383 per calendar day (totaling HK$11,490 for 30 days).
    2. The first and last days must be working days; Saturdays/Sundays may be included if specified in the contract
  2. Exclusions from Reimbursement:
    1. Circumstances for Non-Acceptance:
      1. Internships lasting less than 28 calendar days, after deducting any no-pay leave
      2. Student Intern taking 14 or more no-pay leave days during the internship
    2. Failure to submit required forms and documents by 12 September 2025 or within 7 days after the end of the internship, whichever is earlier; may result in Employers bearing costs and settling allowances directly with the Student Intern
