Thank you to EdUHK for recognising me with the President's Commendation. As a full-time karate athlete in the past four years, I have persevered through rigorous training, injuries, and defeats in competitions. Due to the pandemic, most competitions were cancelled these years. However, I remained committed to all the practices and strived to work even harder to achieve the best results in upcoming competitions.

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” — Pablo Picasso. In 2020, I entered EdUHK and witnessed many social issues emerging from the peak of the epidemic. With parents and children spending more time together at home, lots of families were living in tension. To address this, I used storytelling skills learnt in my childhood, and co-organised a Paired-Reading Service Project with the EdUHK Student Affairs Office.

Two years ago, I applied for the Bachelor of Health Education Programme and started my study in the EdUHK. Also, I would like to thank the President and teachers for their full support which makes it easier for me to stay engaged in campus life. Moreover, I can learn about knowledge beyond table tennis which helps to broaden my horizons. Knowing that it is not easy to strike a balance between studies and sport at the same time, I will keep fighting and hope to pursue a master’s degree in the future to enrich my life...

What EdUHK has given me is not only recognition, but also a door to a diverse world where I have had the opportunity to interact with people across disciplines and push the boundaries of creativity. I hope that my experience will inspire more students to contribute to their alma mater and the community...
