The Research Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies and Experiential Learning (RCISEL) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) recently had the honor of hosting Professor Zuo Huang from the South China Normal University for a three-day academic exchange from 20 to 22 Jan, 2025.
Professor Zuo, the Director of the Department of Moral Education and Teacher Development at the South China Normal University’s Faculty of Teacher Education, holds a Ph.D. in Education and has completed postdoctoral research in Psychology. Her research spans a wide range of fields, including Core Competencies in Student Development, Family Education, Early Childhood Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Learning Psychology, and Teacher Professional Development.
During her visit, Professor Zuo engaged in a roundtable discussion with Dr. Li, Dr HUI, and Dr. Yip from the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies on 20 Jan, focusing on academic and teaching collaborations.
On the morning of 21 Jan, Professor Zuo visited the Postgraduate Diploma of Education (Primary-General Studies). In the afternoon, she discussed on children’s financial education and its development in China with Dr. Li, Associate Head of the Centre, and Dr. He, RCISEL’s Senior Project Manager. Dr. He shared the center's recent activities at the meeting.
On 22 Jan, Professor Zuo visited The Salvation Army Centaline Charity Fund Queen’s Hill School and Q.E.S. Old Students' Association Branch Primary School. She participated in thematic learning classes and exchanged ideas with the teachers, sharing her educational philosophy and practical experiences.
Professor Zuo's visit highlighted the importance of academic collaboration and innovation. Faculty and students were inspired by her insights and motivated to pursue further research and development. |
