Dr Emma E. Buchtel was interviewed by the South China Morning Post regarding research on the modern virtue of filial piety, reported in the 14 June 2021 article “Fewer babies, altered expectations and a desire for connection: How modern society is forcing Chinese filial piety to adapt to new times.” In the newspaper article, Dr Buchtel shared her recent research on how university students view “filial piety”, supported in part by GRF grant "Filial Values and "Unhealthy Practices:" When is Corruption Increased by Confucian Virtues?
