With a view to providing better connection between the Institute’s Tai Po campus and major transport links for its students, staff, visitors and stakeholders, the Management decided to launch the HKIEd Campus – University MTR Station Shuttle Bus Service in 2008. The team, comprising five staff members, Mr Chan Kwok-kwong, Mr Cheung Kin-kwan, Mr Raymond Choi Fu-yue Raymond, Mr Lai Kai-yiu and Ms Li Ching-man, has supported the implementation of the shuttle bus service since that time, and made the service possible.

Despite encountering many teething problems and setbacks in the initial stages of the service, the team members have demonstrated their “can-do” attitude and worked beyond the scope of their duties. They have successfully overcome all of the difficulties arising from legislative, regulatory, logistical, financial and public-opinion hurdles.

The team has exhibited perseverance and flexibility in making adjustments and improvements throughout the implementation process, sometimes facing unjustified criticism but always responding in a prompt and helpful manner. As a result of the team’s effort, the shuttle bus service runs smoothly and has facilitated the organization of many activities and events. It has also brought staff members, students and visitors much closer to the Institute.
