Whole Person Education Starts with Hostel Life

 

That said, hostel accommodation can still place a heavy financial burden on some students. The current hostel fee is HK$9,500 per year with students paying a further $3,000 to $4,000 per month for their basic expenses.

Sung Ching-wai, Catherine, an HKIEd student, admitted that hostel fees and necessary related expenses do place pressures on students, "To relieve my family from extra financial burden, I need to take up several part-time jobs to make ends meet. You can imagine the tremendous pressure that many of us who come from more disadvantaged backgrounds face."

As such, both HKIEd teachers and students would be very grateful for any donations that will benefit our more financially disadvantaged students with their whole person development, via our hostel residence policy.
