Mr. Ludovic Curtil and his two assistants Mr. Brent Que and Ms. Julia Leung organized a Climate Fresk workshop for Dr Ezechiel Thibaud's LVE6010 group. Climate Fresk is a science-based game created by Cédric Ringenbach, that aims at helping players understand the mechanisms behind climate change. Players work collaboratively in a group; they are asked to assemble cards in a relation of cause to consequence, ultimately making the reasons and effects of global warming clear and visible.
The goal of this game is to help players understand the complex causes of climate change, but also to discuss sustainable solutions based on this new knowledge. This session was meant to illustrate the topic of environmental education: not only is it a direct and thought-provoking way for students to learn about sustainability, it is also an activity that they can easily do with their own future students.
Everyone was active and enthusiastic about the activity, all students participated and showed great interest in understanding these complex issues. They expressed that this had enriched their vision and they proposed various innovative solutions to reduce climate change and imagine a sustainable future.
