MA(GSE) Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration and Sharing Session

2024-09-20

On 13 September 2024, a Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration and Sharing Session was organised for the MA(GSE) students. Dr. Tina Gao Fang, the Programme Leader, warmly welcomed all participants, setting a festive tone for the event.

Dr. Euan Auld, the Associate Programme Leader, hosted engaging ice-breaking games, where students formed small groups to solve lantern riddles and answer quiz questions related to the festival. These fun activities encouraged teamwork and sparked lively discussions.

Following the games, MA(GSE) course lecturers, Ms. Yvette Leung and Dr. Tamara Savelyeva, shared with the group about unique festivals from their countries. Students also discovered that the origin of mooncakes is tied to a historical rebellion during the Yuan Dynasty, symbolizing resilience in the face of adversity. This led to an open dialogue, inviting students to share their own experiences and tips for overcoming challenges.

The joyful gathering concluded with everyone enjoying mooncakes and light refreshments, creating a wonderful opportunity for students to connect and gain insightful advice for their postgraduate studies.
