The Department of International Education was pleased to facilitate a meeting between South China Normal University (SCNU) and the Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD) at EdUHK.
Prof. Li Shengbin, Dean of the School of Education at SCNU, and his team visited EdUHK on Friday, November 17, 2023. In addition to Prof. Li, the SCNU team included Prof. Shi Yudan, Associate Dean of the School of Education, Dr. Liu Luhu, Head of the Department of Education, Dr. Chen Zhuojun, Associate Researcher of the Department of Education, and Dr. Lyu Jiyue, Associate Researcher of the Institute of International and Comparative Education.
In the morning, Dr. Lam Chi Ming, the Acting Head of IE, extended a warm welcome to the SCNU partners. Subsequently, Prof. Lim Cher Ping, the Associate Dean (International Engagement) and his FEHD team, comprising Dr. Eric Cheng, Associate Dean (Quality Assurance and Enhancement), Dr. Jiang Da, Assistant Dean (Research & Postgraduate Studies), and Dr. Ricci Fong, Assistant Dean (Learning & Teaching), opened the meeting. They explored possible collaboration and cooperation between faculty members and students from both institutions.
During the afternoon, a roundtable discussion took place between the SCNU team led by Prof. Li and the Department of International Education led by Dr. Lam. Four colleagues from the department participated, focusing on future research collaboration between SCNU and IE. Both parties agreed to organize a joint international education forum, initiate joint research projects and collaborations, and explore the possibility of exchanging (postgraduate) students in the 2023/24 academic year.
The Department expresses sincere appreciation to Prof. Li and his team for the fruitful visit and looks forward to continued partnership ahead.
