A capacity-building training of TVET instructors and leaders in Timor Leste

2024-12-18

Dr. Margarita Pavlova from IE conducted a capacity-building training for TVET instructors and leaders as part of the Knowledge Transfer Project supported by EdUHK from November 30 to December 9, 2024 in Dili of Timor Leste. Titled "Greening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across SEAMEO countries," the project aims to promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The training engaged 25 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Education, SEFOPE, and accredited training centers. The specific objectives included enhancing knowledge about greening TVET, empowering practitioners to design green skills modules and resources, and assisting them in creating plans for greening their institutions.

Dr. Pavlova designed the program, prepared resources, and delivered five days of training. Participants improved their understanding of greening TVET and developed plans for their institutions. Follow-up activities will occur within six months to assess implementation and challenges. The project results will be presented at the SEAMEO research conference in May 2025.
