We are pleased to announce that Professor Xie Ailei from South China Normal University (SCNU) will be visiting our university in May, and you are cordially invited to attend the seminar organized by the Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL).
Also, Professor Xie will be available for one-on-one consultation sessions from May 13 to 14. Professor Xie is a distinguished scholar at the School of Education Science, SCNU, and serves as the Co-Chairman of the Child Education and Development Committee under the Chinese Society of Educational Development Strategy. Additionally, he is the Director of the Qualitative Research in Education Innovation Laboratory at SCNU.
His expertise in education policy, child education and development, and qualitative research methods makes this a valuable opportunity for faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students with research or teaching interests in education studies, educational policy analysis, and qualitative research methodologies.

“小鎮做題家”的遊戲感與反身性
講座概要： 向上的社會流動本身的正面意義毋庸置疑，但只從經濟維度描述社會流動故事則有可能使社會流動本身的意義狹隘化。關注成為精英大學天之驕子的農村和小鎮青年，只看人生座標的幾何移動還不夠，亦要關注他們在社會流動征程中的心理和感情。高等教育機構遠非一個文化上中立的環境，其中充斥的是中上層的文化規範和遊戲規則，進入異質的被主流話語體系定義為更為高階的文化中，農村和小鎮青年往往要承受沉重的心理和情感代價。本次講座立足始於2013年的一項追蹤調查，探討了這些心理和情感代價的內容，並初步探討了由它們而激發的反身性——而此正蘊含了帶來改變和成功的力量。

嘉賓簡介 |
謝愛磊教授
謝愛磊，華南師範大學教育科學學院教授，中國教育發展戰略學會兒童教育和發展專業委員會副理事長，華南師範大學教育質性研究創新實驗室主任。近期較為關注的研究課題主要有精英高校農村大學生發展，城市中產階層的教育焦慮、粵港澳教育合作發展。在《教育研究》《北京大學教育評論》《華東師範大學學報（教育科學版）》《高等教育研究》《Poetics》《Higher Education》《British Journal of Sociology of Education》《Comparative Education》等學術期刊發表各類文章逾70篇，相關資證報告曾被教育部採用。先後主持國家社科基金（社會學）一般專案、教育部人文社會科學基金青年專案、廣東省哲學社會科學規劃專案等科研專案。研究成果曾獲第六屆全國教育科學研究優秀成果獎、第三屆全國教育實證研究優秀成果獎。曾獲評廣州市青年文化英才。代表作有《小鎮做題家：出身、心態與象牙塔》《自我低估：精英高校農村籍大學生社會能力的自我建構》《讀書無用還是讀書無望——一個對農村基層居民教育觀念的再認識》等。
對探索宏觀社會結構變遷與個體精神境遇之間的聯繫有持續興趣。希望研究有助發掘基層“聲音”、並將其引入主流的政策文獻和學術討論中。
