To provide authentic learning experiences, the Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) cooperated with CityLinkers Group Limited, a prestigious corporate finance consultancy. They offered a non-credit-bearing internship for our Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management (BSc(EM)) students in May 2024.

A total of six BSc(EM) students, consisting of three Entry-year and three Final-year students, participated in the internship at CityLinkers Group Limited during 3 - 17 May 2024. This internship provided a valuable opportunity for our students to apply the knowledge and skills in executive management that they acquired in the classroom to real-world situations. Additionally, it allowed them to develop and refine essential generic skills such as problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and time management skills that were highly valued by employers and would undoubtedly give them a competitive edge in the job market.

Cecilia, an Entry-year student, highlighted the numerous benefits of participating in this meaningful internship. She mentioned that she had the chance to apply accounting theories and auditing practices to prepare financial reports. Furthermore, she had the oppportunity to verify essential information and data in financial documents such as cheque counterfoils and expense reports to ensure accuracy, further developing her skills in financial areas. Additionally, she was able to work outside the office, meeting and discussing with clients under the guidance of her mentors. This experience broadened her understanding of different industries and further refined her communication skills.

EPL would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to CityLinkers Group Limited, a distinguished corporate finance consultancy with diverse business services including accounting, auditing, commercial consulting, tax advisory, IPO, and ESG across the Asian region. We greatly appreciate their significant contributions in providing this unique internship for our students to enhance their learning experience, connect with industry professionals, and expand their professional network.
