GBA Trip: BSc(EM) Students Discover Qianhai's Culture and Development

From December 19 to 20, 2024, 45 students from the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management (BSc(EM)) programme embarked on a two-day trip to Qianhai, Shenzhen. This immersive experience aimed to deepen their understanding of the culture and development of the Qianhai district, as well as provide insights into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao  Greater Bay Area (GBA).

On the first day, students visited the Qianhai Exhibition Hall (前海展示廳), Qianhai International Talent Hub (前海國際人才港), and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (前海深港青年夢工廠). At the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, they learned about the district's history and urban development. Ms. Li Shuting from the Qianhai International Talent Hub shared valuable insights into Qianhai's growth and the opportunities and support available for youth from Hong Kong and beyond.

The visit to the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub featured an engaging discussion with Mr. Wallace Lau, Chairman of Innovation Galaxy, who addressed various topics, including the current job market in the GBA, internship opportunities, the entrepreneurial environment for university students, and the application of artificial intelligence in the new era, fostering a friendly interaction with the students.

On the second day, the group visited Nantou Ancient Town, gaining a fresh perspective on Shenzhen's historical development. They discovered how cultural and creative industries are thriving within this ancient city, highlighting the importance of cultural preservation and innovation in the region.

This trip provided students with authentic learning experiences, enhancing their understanding of the dynamic development within the Greater Bay Area. Through firsthand engagement with local initiatives and historical insights, students returned with a richer appreciation of the region's cultural and economic landscape.
