Congratulations to Dr Soobin Choi on his new publication

Dr. Soobin Choi's journal paper, entitled “Teachers’ Effects on Student Achievement in the United States from a Cumulative Perspective” (co-authored with Dr. Se Woong Lee), has been published in Educational Research and Evaluation.

 

Using data from a randomized experiment in Tennessee elementary schools and value-added modeling, this study provides causal evidence that cumulative exposure to effective or ineffective teachers has a greater impact than the sum of individual teacher effects. It suggests that a cumulative perspective on teacher effectiveness can provide deeper insights into academic disparities between advantaged and disadvantaged students.
