An esteemed and iconic figure in the finance and accounting sector,  Mr Carlson Tong Ka-shin (Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa) has dedicated himself since his retirement to public service and philanthropy. While at the helm of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and subsequently the University Grants Committee (UGC), he spared no effort in consolidating Hong Kong’s role as an international financial centre and in promoting its higher education development.
