Professor Wong Ming-hung, Advisor (Environmental Science) at the Department of Science and Environmental Studies, received an Honorary Doctor of Science (DSc) Degree from Professor Inna Shevchenko, Rector of Southern Federal University at a congregation held on 31 May 2024. 

The honorary doctorate was conferred in recognition of Professor Wong’s significant contributions to soil science, ecology and biogeochemistry development, and his longstanding collaborative work with the university. Professor Wong is the lead scientist for the 3-year mega project on Bioremediation of Polluted Soil Ecosystems supported by the Russian government.
