Reception@The President’s Lodge
Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), enjoys meeting students and alumni in different corners of the campus, whether it’s at canteens, in communal areas, in student hostels, in the sports hall or other places.
On 15 February 2019, Professor Cheung received a group of special guests who were all recipients of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships (HKJC Scholarships) at the President’s Lodge.
Professor Frederick Ma Si-hang, Council Chairman of EdUHK, and Mr Leong Cheung, Executive Director, Charities and Community, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, also attended the Reception.
Sitting in the cozy living room, these alumni and current students who have attained outstanding performance in both academic and non-academic areas shared with Professor Cheung, Professor Ma and Mr Cheung their education and career aspirations, as well as their learning experience at EdUHK and in other parts of the world.
Miss Tayyaba Bibi, a graduate of the Bachelor of Education (Honours) programme, expressed her desire to give back to society through education, a field she is passionate about. Bibi rejoined the EdUHK family last year in another capacity as Lecturer at the Department of English Language Education, after completing her Master’s degree at the University of Oxford.
Since 1998-99, EdUHK students have benefited from the HKJC Scholarships. Each year, up to five HKJC Scholarships are awarded to the University’s undergraduates, covering full tuition fees and providing support for academic expenses and living costs during their studies.
Reception@The President’s Lodge aims to enhance communication among students, alumni and key stakeholders from different backgrounds through engaging dialogue.
