Over 1,500 Alumni Join EdUHK Alumni Homecoming 2025 to Reunite and Build New Connections
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) held the EdUHK Alumni Homecoming 2025 on 22 March. Over 1,500 alumni returned to their alma mater with friends and family to reunite and interact with mentors through various activities on the Tai Po campus.
The opening ceremony began with a lion dance performed by a team from S.R.B.C.E.P.S.A. Lu Kwong Fai Memorial School, and was officiated by EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, Vice President (Research and Development) Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin, Vice President (Administration) Dr Tom Fong Wing-ho and members of the University’s management. Also in attendance were representatives from various alumni associations and supporting organisations, guest alumni, friends of the University, faculty members and students.
Professor Lee expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their enthusiastic participation in University events, cherishing their enduring bond with their alma mater and showing unwavering support for its progress. “Many EdUHK alumni have become teachers, nurturing future talents for society, while others are making their marks in diverse fields. The wealth of professional knowledge, practical experience, and extensive networks and resources that each of you have built are truly invaluable to the University’s flourishing”, he said.
AADO arranged a variety of exciting activities, including guided tours, children's and family games, as well as different booths. Some alumni brought their children along and shared time on campus together, creating a lively atmosphere.
During the event, Northcote College of Education Past Students' Association, The Graduate Association of Colleges of Education and The Education University of Hong Kong Alumni Association set up booths to introduce their work and engage with fellow alumni. Representatives of the associations also extended their heartfelt wishes to their alma mater. Northcote College of Education Past Students' Association Chairperson Dr Dennis Koo Hok-chun expressed pride in EdUHK being recently recognised for "Upholding Rigorous Academic Standards and Enhancing Quality in Learning and Teaching". He wished EdUHK continued prosperity and success. The Graduate Association of Colleges of Education Chairperson Mr Ng Lik-hang shared his delight in reuniting and connecting with alumni from different generations during the Alumni Homecoming, at which alumni shared their experience with each other, with the spirit of education held close to heart. Lastly, The Education University of Hong Kong Alumni Association Chairperson Mr Chu Kwok-keung remarked on the privilege of witnessing the alma mater's ongoing development and progress. He hopes that with the completion of the new academic building, EdUHK would capitalise on innovative facilities to enhance effectiveness in nurturing talents.
AADO regularly organises alumni activities to maintain close ties with EdUHK, and support the University’s development.
