The Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD) of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), held a reception at the American Educational Research Association in Philadelphia in April.

The reception was part of the University’s 30th Anniversary celebrations and showcased the Faculty’s achievements. It was attended by over 370 people, including distinguished educators, researchers, policymakers and experts from over 170 universities and nine organisations across 25 countries. The evening provided a platform for networking, gaining valuable insights and exploring exciting opportunities for future collaboration.

There, Professor Bruce Macfarlane, Dean of FEHD, highlighted the faculty’s pivotal role in driving teacher education in Hong Kong and Asia. He explained how FEHD’s six departments worked together in advancing education through interdisciplinary research and innovative learning and teaching approaches.

Delegates from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Department of Early Childhood Education, Department of Education Policy and Leadership and Department of Psychology shared their experiences of working and living in Hong Kong, and spoke of the young talent joining the University.

EdUHK will continue to forge close collaboration with intuitions and scholars worldwide, and facilitate international partnership working at both university and faculty levels.
