EdUHK Receives UGC Delegation
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) received a delegation from the University Grants Committee (UGC), led by its Chairman Mr Carlson Tong, on 6 September 2018.
In addition to having valuable exchanges with the award-winners of the 46th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, the delegation also visited the newly opened State Key Laboratory in Marine Pollution and learned about EdUHK’s education technology projects covering STEM, special education and environmental education, which led to breakthroughs in classroom teaching and home learning. UGC members also met with EdUHK’s faculty members, followed by small group discussions with students from various programmes.
With a briefing and presentation given by EdUHK President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, the delegation was pleased to note the major developments of the University on various fronts since it was granted the University title in 2016 as well as its commitment to the Education-plus approach. Apart from nurturing outstanding educators, the delegation was also impressed by the University’s venture of educational research and engagement of knowledge transfer activities which would benefit the wider community, both locally and globally.
