Some parents spend long time with their mobile phones and digital devices rather than spending fun time with their own children. Some parents find it difficult to start the conversation with their children on certain issues, such as healthy eating habit or sex education. Some parents do not know what the favourite toys, games and cartoon characters of their children are. It is vital to build and develop a strong positive parent-child relationship as early as possible. Strategic use of picture books with young children will effectively enhance children's learning and improve parent-child relationship. In this seminar, the following points will be discussed: 1. Principles of selecting appropriate picture books; 2. Effective strategies of using picture books; 3. 3S in parent-child read aloud; 4. Homemade playful picture books.
