Hong Kong Meets Kazakhstan: A Humanities Cultural Crossroads within the Belt & Road

ELE proudly co-organized the FHM flagship event 'Hong Kong Meets Kazakhstan: A Humanities Cultural Crossroads within the Belt & Road' on 13 Dec. 2024. Prof. Angel Lin delivered a keynote on decolonizing English medium education through the PAA model (Plurilingualism, Affect, Agency) and the 4T lenses (Translanguaging, Trans-semiotizing, Transknowledging, and Trans-culturing). She also chaired a parallel session on language education in Kazakhstan and Hong Kong.

Professor Michelle Gu Mingyue introduced EdUHK’s research postgraduate (RPg) programs and chaired a session on potential research topics for postgraduate students in Kazakhstan. Dr. Artem Zadorozhnyy, an EdUHK RPg alumni, shared his doctoral study experiences at EdUHK, and Dr. Ju Seong Lee discussed Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE) and its integration into teaching and learning.
