Title: Practical strategies in teaching grammar and vocabulary
The teaching and learning of grammar and vocabulary has a significant role in English language education, yet it is sometimes regarded as boring and ineffective by teachers and students. This seminar will introduce three practical strategies, underpinned by theoretical principles, to make grammar and vocabulary teaching more engaging and fruitful. These strategies will be illustrated with concrete examples to exemplify how they can be applied in the classroom context. Participants in this seminar will also be provided with helpful guidance on the application of these strategies in their own teaching and learning of English.

Title: Motivating children to learn English through stories
Education swung from a total suspension to virtual online mode to hybrid mode since the pandemic evolved and progressed through the years. Upon returning to school, our digital natives experienced an abrupt change of 'classroom setting' which was once a few intensive 20-minute-screen-based lessons a day at home to a conventional classroom setting. No more virtual classmates but real partners they can play with. What can English teachers do to engage them in learning English in addition to using textbooks in our curriculum? How can English teachers tap on these digital natives' curiosity and natural love for stories to arouse their interest in learning English? In this sharing session, the speaker will share some practical tips and demonstrate how to use stories and multisensory approach to foster children's love for English.
B) Conclusion and summary (12:15pm to 12:20pm)
