1 Peter of the New Testament gives Christians who are persecuted and live with bitterness a correct view of suffering. Its suffering theology points out the world will come to the end and Christ had set an example in suffering. Believers should take Christ as an example in suffering, participating and sharing His suffering so that they can finally be glorified with Christ.
Suffering is God's will for Christian life and a part of the call. Christians are called to be like their Lord, willing to endure grievances, be good and suffer. When Christians understand their purpose of life and the positive meaning of suffering in faith, they will no longer be troubled by them. Joy is not based on the current situation that the eyes can see, but by faith we confirm our salvation and future glory.
