Ecclesiastes 4:1-8 |
Extract: |
Ecclesiastes, a book of wisdom literature in the Old Testament, explored many different themes related with daily life. Rev. Mung extracted the essence from the Book to deduce the meaning of oppression. Oppression as from the system perspective creates harm to all parties involved. However, all our works, and choices are under God’s judgement. Life is inevitably absurd and unjust in reality. However, enjoying life is the gift of God. Men should enjoy and do what is fair and just. Am I an oppressor or the one being oppressed? Who do I work for? How can I practice righteousness in a system of oppression, to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with my God? |
