The speaker pointed out that the parable of the vineyard workers was to illustrate the values of the kingdom of heaven. The first group of workers only considered rewarding according to contribution. In verse 15, “are you envious..?” means "...evil of the eye" in Hebrew. Their evil was that they did not consider why the others were "idle" for a whole day and whether their wages were enough for their basic expenses. |
