April 2017

(Hope and Peace in Easter)

When I was a boy, there was a kind of pencil sharpener with a small mirror on it. We liked to play with it by turning it at an angle to reflect light when lessons were boring. “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5) We are just dusty mirrors which cannot emit light by ourselves, and even do not reflect light well. Jesus, the true light on Earth, can project the light of truth into the world.

Despite the hopelessness and destruction from wars, violence, disasters and epidemics in our world nowadays, the resurrection of Jesus still brings us unfailing eternal hope and peace.

1. Don’t be frightened by problems
Life includes innumerable troubles, financial problems, degradation of the environment, food safety and much more. The Scripture says “Do not be afraid” more than fifty times, and assures us with the presence of God at all times.

2. We grow and learn from difficulties
We are weary and burdened by work which drives away our interest from the loving creation by God. Difficulties make us stop at times and think over the essence of living.

3. There is always a way out
Our tendency to enlarge and focus on the weakness and imperfection of self and others makes us blind to find a way. With paradigm shift we can discover new opportunities and embrace the grace from above.

4. We will overcome difficulties
“In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”(Message, John 16:33) With our Lord Jesus we can discover and experience resurrection life.
The amazing grace and love of Jesus Christ be with you!
