6x6 Visual Flow @EdUHK: Taipei x Hong Kong Visual Arts Exchange Exhibition
Events | Oct 2025
6x6 Visual Flow @EdUHK: Taipei x Hong Kong Visual Arts Exchange Exhibition co-initiated by renowned artists Tsong Pu from Taipei and Lui Eddie from Hong Kong and co-organized by the Master of Arts in Visual Arts Education and Creative Practice programme of the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), seeks to create a dynamic dialogue in contemporary visual arts between these two vibrant cities. The exhibition features twelve distinguished artists: Tsong Pu, Tao Wen Yueh, Lien Chien Hsing, Pan Yu, Cai Guojie, and Hsiao Chu Fang from Taipei, alongside Wong Wing Tong, Lui Eddie, Hung Keung, Chan Wing Sze Cissy, Mak Winne, and Liu Ying from Hong Kong. Through their most representative works, these artists present diverse and rich creative expressions of both cities.
The title “6x6” symbolizes the participation of six artists from each city while evoking the boundless combinations and possibilities inherent in artistic creation. Each artist employs a distinct visual language to engage with their cultural context and the spirit of the era. “Visual Flow” represents the continuous exchange and transformation of visuals, ideas, and emotions between Taipei and Hong Kong, transcending geographical boundaries to form a dynamic, evolving aesthetic convergence.
The exhibition showcases a wide array of artistic forms and styles, reflecting the forefront of contemporary art in Taipei and Hong Kong and encouraging deeper exploration of innovative artistic expression. To facilitate meaningful dialogue, The Education University of Hong Kong will host two public lectures, where all participating artists will share their creative philosophies and experiences. These sessions offer audiences a unique opportunity to not only appreciate the artworks but also engage directly with the artists and uncover the stories behind their creations.
Like flowing energy, these works weave between the two cities, fostering not only a visual dialogue but also extending to cultural and educational exchange. Through the exhibition and lectures, we aim to inspire profound interactions among EdUHK students, faculty, the public, and the artists, sparking discussions on creative processes and ideas. This initiative seeks to cultivate cross-cultural understanding and nurture innovative thinking.
“6x6 Visual Flow” serves as a bridge, connecting audiences of all ages and backgrounds, and as an invitation for everyone to participate in witnessing how art inspires reflection, emotion, and connection.
